Laura Chamberlain Dawson

Laura Chamberlain Dawson

Patient Care Coordinator

Patient Care Coordinator / doctor's wife, Laura Chamberlain Dawson has been involved in dentistry since, well, since Dr. Dawson was still in high school. She completed her education at Southwest Baptist University and also has a love of the outdoors, camping, hiking, and bicycling: all conditional on warm weather, of course! Hobbies include history, travel, reading, repairing and decorating unloved pieces of furniture, keeping in touch with the five children and going on adventures with granddaughters Emily, Taylor, and Ryann.

She and Dr. Dawson met at the local theater guild when he was cast as Kramer in the stage play, "Any Body for Tea?" and she was selected to play the reality deprived Fairy May in "The Curious Savage."  Laura is conversant in American Sign Language and is a regular contributor to Doctor of Dentistry magazine.

Colorado Dragon Boat Festival

Once again Advanced Dental Solutions was able to participate with The Drill Team in the 8th Annual Colorado Dragon Boat Festival. This year we won 3 races and lost two, missing a chance at the semi-finals by 7/10 of a second.

Colorado Bike Month - Bike to Work Day, June 25, 2008

It was another successful staff breakfast / bike to work day: the third one our office has participated in. The weather was perfect for the event and we enjoyed greeting other bikers as they trekked onward to their work.

"I'm Off My Rocker" Walking Guild

This year, even more of our patients and even some non-patients participated in our hiking guild. Tally cards keep coming in and I'm Off My Rocker T-Shirts keep going out. The winners of the hiking staff were Linda and Phil. Even a simple regimen of this weigh bearing exercise has been proven to provide abundant benefits to the body's over all well-being. New T-shirts and tally cards are available every April.

Here is all you do:
Pick your own style and pace. Each day enter the estimated number of miles you've run, swum, walked or biked on the tally card provided by our office. When you've completed 100 miles on foot, 500 miles cycling, or 25 miles swimming present your card to Dr. Dawson and receive your free "I'm Off My Rocker" t-shirt.

Highland Elementary Science Fair

Granddaughter Emily chose to demonstrate the formula for a cavity as her third grade science fair project.

Bacteria + Sugar = Acid

Acid = Decay

She also read nutrition labels and converted the sugar content into actual granulated sugar poured into test tubes to demonstrate how simple, everyday foods contribute to decay. Most observers were surprised by yogurt; one full test tube (13 grams) per 6 oz. yogurt. The biggest offender was an 8 ounce soda which contains two test tubes (over 30 grams) of sugar.

Bike to Work Day 2007

The weather cooperated wonderfully while Dr. Dawson cooked crepes and sausage for a staff breakfast on the patio before heading off on our annual Bike To Work ride.

The cool morning air made for a most enjoyable ride.

The 6th Annual Colorado Dragon Boat Festival 2006

Our office had the privilege of participating as rowers on the Drill Team at this years Asian Pacific culture celebration. Each dragon boat held 9 male and 9 female rowers, a drummer, a flag man, and a helmsman. July 30th found dozens of teams competing at Sloans Lake in several heats. The course was 150 meters from dock to flag and the challenge was to row in unison as success came from being synchronized rather than strong. (I like to think our team didn't win because we were too strong!) All members of our team were either dentists or dental auxilliary, thus the name The Drill Team.

Bike To Work Day June 28, 2006

Our staff got together for breakfast then we all rode the "Tour de Highline."

We endorse cycling as a great way towards overall health.

Our office building has bike racks in front and it is situated only about 600 feet from the canal.

South Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce Business Expo 2005

Advanced Dental Solutions had a booth at the business Expo held at Marriott DTC. In keeping with the theme "Rock and Roll in the Rockies" Dr. Dawson and staff dressed up as 33 1/3 LP records with their own Crown label.

Dr. Dawson could not resist reminiscing his former Hula Hoop days.

Hudson Gardens - Halloween

Advanced Dental Solutions had a table at Hudson Gardens for their annual Halloween event! We passed out halloween toothbrushes to the kids, and gave a friendly reminder to the over 4,600 participants to brush their teeth after eating sweets!

Nation Public Lands Day - September 24, 2005

Our office team became Weed Warriors at Roxborough Park in showing our support for National Public Lands. Here we are doing our best to repel a prolific foreign invader known as Plumeless Thistle.
